I wanna be a healthy bitch
I'm on a mission to purchase a treadmill. Does anyone have any good tips/ideas/information on what is the best thing to look for? I don't want to spend over $1000, but I also don't want it to be a piece of garbage from Walmart for $250. Dusty and I checked a couple out at an exercise equipment store (much higher priced!) and then at a sporting goods store (much lower priced!). I've come to the realization that running outdoors isn't the option for me. I can't breathe the cold air in the winter and end up wheezing and I can't be in the direct sunlight in the summer since I'm allergic to the damn sun. So I'm in the market for a decently priced, portable, and well built treadmill.

A few weeks ago Dusty bought me "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey. This is the book that has been scorned by Oprah. (who I believe is a blood sucking vampire underneath all that makeup) It was an excellent read. I don't give a flying rat's ass what Oprah says. It is a memoir of a man's time spent in rehab trying to get over his addictions. Although my addictions were never as extreme as this man's were, I was still able to connect with him on many levels. It is a good read for anyone, addict or not, to understand what goes through an addict's mind during withdrawals and then through recovery.
I also thought I would share a particularly dumb conversation I had at work with a student concerning his financial aid. I was helping him with his options in financial aid and was explaining the difference between grants and loans. He kept exclaiming "I want a LOAN! But I don't want to pay it BACK!" I calmly tried to explain to him that Yes, loans do need to be paid back to the lender, which is a bank. He sat in his chair with a dumbfounded look on his face for several seconds. Finally he yelled, "You mean loans come from a BANK?"

I think the problem Oprah had was that the dude lied, which is definitely bad. Doesn't make the book any less readable though, he just needs to market it as fiction. I agree with you assessment of Oprah though, she's one scary bitch.
9:31 PMSorry, I don't know much about treadmills, but I do know and agree with you that Oprah is rotten to the core. Like you, the sun hates me also. It is my fondest hope to destroy it someday.
5:14 AMHey, it started it!
Anyway, good luck finding a treadmill. I hope you get a good one.
