A Long Time Gone

I have successfully made it through my first two weeks of real work. It hasn't been easy adjusting to a new schedule, a new town, and a new place to live. (well, it really isn't mine, I'm still staying with Tim and Jen) I think I've made it so far. We'll see once Monday rolls around.

You see, I am always in constant fear of being canned. Another temp that got hired with me got canned after the second day she worked. Yesterday I screwed up royally and entered an entire batch of incoming checks for the year 2006. It's entirely possible that I will get a phone call early monday morning telling me to not show up for work anymore.

Besides that, the work is pretty dull. It's alot of information to learn, but now that I'm understanding things, I'm bored with it already. It's mostly data entry in the accounts receivable division of the company. Usually I deal from $500,000 to $5,000,000 a day in check sales. It's pretty intense. However, I am bored to tears with it. At least the day goes by quickly. I never, repeat, NEVER have a minute of relaxing or off times. There is always too much to do in too little time. If I'm not on break or at lunch, I am working nonstop.

At least it keeps me busy and on my toes. It also allows me to keep my mind from missing Dusty too much. It's always hard coming home and not having him here with me. I'd rather be at work than be sitting here on my air mattress missing him like hell. Thank God for webcams, instant messangers, and cell phones.

Today I looked at another apartment. I got denied the first one I applied for due to my bankruptcy. That's right, you heard it. I filed bankruptcy awhile ago, a couple months ago actually. I have nothing to be ashamed of. I don't give a flying fuck what anyone else thinks, there is no possible way I could have paid all of my medical debt off in my lifetime. I made the right decision and life moves on. Anyway, so I got denied the first one. I just applied for another one this afternoon. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me! It's truly a cute little place.

Now I just wish Mr. Shorty would get ahold of me sometime soon! See, he is a DADDY now and has neglected to call me to tell me the name, if it's a boy or girl, and all that good stuff. So Shorty, get your ass to a phone and call me, dammit!

Pretty soon we'll find out that the authors of our favorite blogs were really spammers and trying to brainwash us.
