A Dedication

Ponderings of a Llama-lover

When I think of yester-years
it always brings me to happy tears
when I think of that one day
we threw snow down vents in the hallway
and ran away giggling like fools
because we never cared if we looked cool.
I'm speaking of you, Melissa,
the trumpet player who nailed every stanza
in jazz band during lunch hours,
those times were definitely ours.
We even tried to be evil witches
and give Chelsea and Diane the itches
by poking our homemade voodoo doll
boy, weren't we the screwballs.
We used to dine daily at the "Paris Cafe",
you gave me pictures of Hanson for my birthday,
I ensembled you a Pocahontas grab-bag,
you drew all over my notebooks the Denmark flag.
Even though we're all "grownup" now
I'll make a solid vow,
that you as Fuzz Lamp and I as Beandip
will always have the bestest friendship.
(and I'll never make fun of you
for rubbing your face on the bottom of a shoe!)
