Indecisions
Now that the shock has worn off, I have been mulling my decision over in my head. I seriously need some feedback and opinions here. Here is what I feel are the good and bad points of this job:
Good:
-extremely rewarding job for achieving my personal goals
-I get paid to take all of my certifications
-good health care packages, retirement packages, investment packages
-I get to stay in the area that I love
-the wages can be enormous, there is no cap to what I can make, it depends on how hard I work
Bad:
-the first year is like bootcamp, very hard and stressful
-hours for the first year are: M-Th 8-8, F 9-5, S 9-12
-possible stress on any personal relationships I now have because of this awful schedule (ex. Dusty will still be in college having fun while I work my ass off and never see him, inability to go home and see my family)
-I have to learn to be a good sales person
-though I love this area, is this really where I want to live for the next (at least) couple years?
I didn't think I would have this much of a problem deciding on if I want this position or not. I've been up for a few hours this morning getting stressed and worried about this. I think I will postpone my decision until later this afternoon.

Congratulations on the job. I think you should figure out what are typical hours for first year associates at other realated firms. Chances are that these hours are similar. Also find out what would be expected of you following the first year, if you could expect a 9-5 job. My personal opinion would be to take the job so you get all of your certificates and such paid for, plus it sounds like it has some decent benifets. With the health insurance make sure it would cover pre-existing conditions, alot of the time they won't. Congratuations again on getting the job offer!!! It is always nice to be wanted. :)
3:47 PM-Katie :)
With getting the interview, the door opened. Now you have the job, your foot is in the door. Take the job because it's a good starting point. After a few years, then you can maybe move to another region. As for availability to see family, that sucks. I know that feeling. I just hope that your co-workers are awesome because if you dont like them, chances are you wont be there very long. But I bet it feels good knowing that you will make lots of well earned cash!
11:47 PMThanks Katie and JJ!! You're right about just trying it out for a year or so. It might end up being the best job ever! If it's not, well then I haven't lost much time.
