You can't take my kitty from me!
Dusty and I got back from rummage sale shopping to this note in our mailbox:
Reminder to all tenants:
Per page 3 of your lease, "Pets or animals of any kind are not permitted on the premises at any time."
If there is a pet found at your rental unit, you will be charged a fee, the pet will be immediately taken, and can be claimed at the Marquette County Humane Society. The pet is not allowed to return to your rental unit!
Ok, I can see them giving us a fee and telling us to get the animal out of the apartment within a day or two. But to just take our pet? How is this legal? It says NOTHING of the sort in our lease.
Plus, they can't just randomly search our apartment. They must give us notice. Jaime, you will be the first to be contacted if such a horrendous thing does happen!
It will break my heart if I can't have Frisky here. Seriously, I am so attached to Frisky it's scary. He's my bitch.

WHAT???? What is that?? And how did they find out that you have a pet there? That's frickin' crazy. You know that he always has a home here, but seriously, it should not come to that. And to just come and take away a pet? That's crazy! Unfortunately, I think that that letter does serve as a notice. I'm going to look into that.
