I'm a band dork at heart

I wish I worked with more people my age. There is one guy who is the same age as me, but he works mornings and I work afternoons. So I'm stuck with people 35 and older every single day. They make me feel like a young-un. They also bore me out of my mind. I don't give a flying shit about how mold grows underneath siding if someone washes the side of a house wrong. I could care less about bunyons. I have to listen to conversations which consist of the wife telling the husband to clean the toilets, etc.

Dusty picked up a kick ass CD when we went rummage saling. It's the Squirrel Nut Zippers. They are awesome! Everytime I get in my car and drive to work, I feel like swing dancing. Or going back in time to jazz band.
I listen to that CD and think about the lunch hours I spent in the band room instead of leaving campus for lunch. I remember Melissa and Carla wailing away on their trumpets. Me and Ang grooving on our tenor saxes. Matt Kurta on bass guitar. The little tiny girl on the drumset (who could play drums better than people 3 times her size). I LOVED jazz band.
I'm a complete band dork at heart. I kick myself in the ass for giving it up so easily. I was in every single band event possible. I played many different instruments. I spent hundreds of hours practicing after school and on weekends. I loved every single minute of it.
I miss it more than you can imagine every single day. I'm PROUD to say that I'm a band geek.
